Chorus
Secures $9 Million in Funding and Announces New CEO
PR Newswire
April 28, 2006
Research Triangle Park, NC. - Chorus Systems, Inc. has secured $9
million in a Series B financing round from Anthem Capital Management,
Core Capital Partners, Inflection Point Ventures and Novak Biddle
Venture Partners. Proceeds from the round will fund sales and marketing
programs, as well as continued product research and development.
Chorus Systems helps organizations take back control of their desktop
and server environment through solutions that automatically detect,
diagnose and resolve desktop and server-related problems throughout
an enterprise network. The results are lower support costs and enhanced
security, performance, availability, and productivity.
"We are very pleased to have built such a strong syndicate
of investors," said Dave Hooks, founder and CTO of Chorus Systems.
"Their financial support, industry expertise and management
strength will help Chorus tremendously during our rapid ramp up."
“Chorus' use of analytics and automation to secure the desktop
will solve a large and painful problem for IT management,”
said Xander Perry, General Partner of Anthem Capital Management
and Chorus Systems board member. “The traditional help desk
approach is to add more people, but given the complexity of the
desktop environment, this just can't keep up with the problems.”
Shortly after closing the Series B financing round, the company
hired John Prisco as its new CEO. Mr. Prisco joins the company as
President and CEO with more than 25 years of experience as a founder
and manager of numerous high-tech start-up companies.
Mr. Prisco comes to Chorus from GeoVantage Inc., a location-based
services aerial imaging company, where he served as its president
and CEO. The company was sold to John Deere & Co. in late 2005.
Before that, Mr. Prisco was president and CEO of Ridgeway Systems
& Software, a U.K.-based software company, which was acquired
by Tandberg Incorporated in 2004. He also served as CEO of broadband
service provider eLink Communications, and as president and CEO
of 2nd Century Communications, a provider of networking and telecommunications
services.
Chorus plans to leverage Mr. Prisco's expertise in building strong
market franchises, bringing products to market and focusing enterprises
on market differentiation.
"There has been a great deal of innovation at Chorus Systems,"
said Mr. Prisco. "It is our goal to build market awareness
of the significant value we bring to IT departments and to become
the market leader in our field."
"Chorus has assembled the right ingredients for success,"
added Anthem's Xander Perry. “It's addressing a pervasive
problem in a truly disruptive way, and now with John on board, the
company has the leadership to guide its growth.”
