Industry Leaders Defywire and webMethods Provide Customers with Competitive Advantage Through Real-Time Wireless Computing
INTEGRATION WORLD 2003 - Orlando, Fl. - webMethods, Inc. (Nasdaq: WEBM), the industry's first Web services infrastructure company, and Defywire, Inc., a leading provider of wireless middleware technology, announced the launch of webMethods Mobile™, an enterprise wireless platform that delivers real-time front and back office information to mobile devices including, phones, PDAs, tablets and laptops.
Available immediately, webMethods Mobile, based on the Defywire Mobility Suite®, enables enterprises to rapidly deploy secure, reliable and scalable wireless applications. With webMethods Mobile, customers will be able to reduce the time, effort and cost of implementing wireless initiatives across the enterprise. The webMethods Mobile solution is network and device independent. It enables organizations to deploy solutions based on existing wireless standards with the ability to leverage future technology and standards improvements as they become available on the market without the need to re-implement their existing solutions.
"With webMethods Mobile, our customers will be able to improve responsiveness, productivity and enterprise workflow, gaining a significant competitive advantage," said Kristin Weller, executive vice president of Product Development, webMethods, Inc. "The webMethods Mobile solution has the unique advantage of providing a seamlessly integrated, out-of-the-box solution for providing wireless access to the full range of enterprise resources already supported by the webMethods Integration Platform."
The webMethods Integration Platform links business processes, enterprise systems, databases, workflows and Web services and is the only solution that can effectively integrate J2EE, .NET and legacy systems. webMethods Mobile further enhances the value of webMethods Integration Platform by extending enterprise information out to mobile users. With the introduction of webMethods Optimize™, a business activity monitoring solution announced earlier this month, customers gain real-time alerts on business-critical information before it has a chance to adversely affect business operations.
"This is a significant win for the many webMethods' customers who can benefit from the faster, more ubiquitous access to enterprise information only possible through mobile technology," said Jill Stelfox, CEO of Defywire. "Customers now have an architecturally advanced wireless extension to the industry-leading webMethods Integration Platform. With this joint solution, customers will be able to deliver secure, reliable, real-time information solutions to their mobile workers in days versus months or years."
